Synchronizing and Load sharing of 07 GEN-SETS

TOTAL IPP CAPACITY = 12.4 MW

Location: Korangi Karachi

PROBLEM:

All the Gas Gen-set were running at Power Mode. To sustain the factory torque (variable load) organization was using different Gen-set with different controller, however this process was inefficient.

CHALLENGE:

Need a complete generator control upgrade to manage and monitor the entire power plant load to shrink the power load to make it more efficient and cost-effective.

SOLUTION:

Enercon Systems International (Pvt.) Ltd set all the Gas Gen-set at Load sharing (island mode) instead of power mode which results all the Gas Generators started bearing the Torque (variable loads). The solution includes: Designing of the Power Management, Supply and Commission the Synchronization and Load Sharing System.

Soorty Enterprise Unit-14

Synchronizing and Load sharing of 05 GEN-SETS with 02 Grid & 02 Solar Power Sources

Location: Korangi Karachi

PROBLEM:

Soorty Enterprises is one of the biggest textile groups in Pakistan. They wanted to setup a new power plant – Unit 14 in Karachi and were looking for a reliable control system with exquisite quality. Enercon being in the business for more than 40 years and global partner of Caterpillar with 24/7 local support was easy choice to take care of their lead certified power plant.

CHALLENGE:

Need a complete generator control and synchronization system for paralleling of generator with each other and with Grid as well as Solar power. Also manage and monitor the entire power plant load to make it more efficient and reliable system.

SOLUTION:

Enercon Systems International (Pvt.) Ltd set all the Gas Gen-set at Load sharing (island mode) and Base-load Mode (Power mode) which results all the Gas Generators started baring the Torque (variable loads). Also provide the provision for parallel with Grid Source and Solar Power Source. The solution includes: Designing of the Power Management, Supply and Commission the Synchronization and Load Sharing System. Enercon offered PLC based architecture which offers flexibility, adaptability and provision for future expansions. A central HMI was provided for operators monitor & Master controlling.

US Denim

Utility and Generator Synchronizing, Load sharing and Baseload Control and of 04 GEN-SETS for Main Power plant.

TOTAL IPP CAPACITY = 5 MW CAT New installation , 2MW Existing GE Engine upgradation  

Location: Lahore, Pakistan

PROBLEM:

US Denim decide to add efficient 5MW Electrical Power Generation and upgrade existing control system due to it plant expansion and load requirement . For the power requirement,  they Install 2 CAT Gas Generators. Continuous and uninterruptable Power are first preference for Textile and Denim industry. Enercon was chosen for the job as it is a proven renowned name & leader in customized Power generation Controls.

CHALLENGE:

Need complete Generator Control, Synchronization and up-gradation of old Synchronization control, this was the Prime source of power for complete 4 Units for US Denim.

SOLUTION:

Enercon Systems International (Pvt.) Ltd supplied 1x Master Panel including existing GE Engine (Jenbacher) Control/Synchronization and 2 Generator Control Panel, Our scope include Mater panel with Synchronization  System for 2 X Jenbacher engine and Utility Synchronization, Control Panel for 2X 3520H, interfacing and load sharing with 2x Jenbacher Engine and 4XCAT diesel engine which running with ComAp.    

Lucky Energy Kathore

Master Control Panel with Load Management, Load Sharing and SCADA monitoring Solution for complete 36MW Power plant

Location: Kathore, Sindh

PROBLEM:

Lucky Energy has total 13 Gas Generators (including Jenbacher, Caterpillar 3500 series and CAT CG Series formerly MWM ) running parallel in Island operation. Since all Generators were operating on different communication protocol, In the event of sudden variation in load, the response time of each generator was different, sometime it could cause tripping of 1-2 Generators and eventually lead to complete blackout of the plant, causing huge amount of production & monetary loss for customer.

CHALLENGE:

Due to different brands of generators and control, customer could not handle the plant efficiently and the plant remained at the risk of black shutdown. Most of the Engines are running in power mode which compromises the torque bearing capacity of the plant.

SOLUTION:

The site had different brand of Engines with different proprietary controls. So, it was very complex to run plant without equal & proportionate sharing of load among all Generators.

In order to simplify the plant operation and to avoid the risk of black out, Enercon provided a centralized Master panel and common load sharing controls on all generators, After commissioning of Enercon controls, customer now can freely run any number of Generators depending on his load requirement, In addition to central monitoring of the whole plant, Master Panel also provides important functions of Load sense load Demand Management, load shedding Management, Neutral Grounding Resistor Controlling, Steam monitoring and any additional customized data monitoring and control.
